A chopper soaring above a popular California coastline suddenly began spiraling out of control, finally losing altitude and smashing into a cluster of palm trees as beachgoers looked on.

Footage posted online show the chopper beginning to twirl near the beach then falling in the direction of the perimeter of the shore, where it becomes wedged amidst palm trees and a set of stairs close to the shoreline route.

Rescue Operation Details

Emergency responders stated five individuals were rushed to the hospital involving two individuals who were in the chopper and were “rescued from the debris” after the accident on Saturday.

Three individuals on the street were harmed. Information on their condition were not yet released.

The cause of the crash was not yet disclosed.
